What is the Contact Underground? Can a new type of social movement be created linking UFOs to possible solutions for humanity’s seemingly unsurmountable problems?
The Contact Underground is a general term that I coined about twenty years ago. In its most narrow sense, it designates those that are promoting what are called Human Initiated Contact Events (HICE) aka Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind (CE-5). In Latin American, the “Underground” reflects the efforts of the Rahma network that was established in 1974 with the leadership of contactee Sixto Paz Wells. In mostly English-speaking countries, it embodies the work of the “CE-5ers.” Why the term “underground”? An explanation for my choice of words requires some historical background as well as a detailed analysis of the global contact situation.
Examples of Past “Underground” Organizations
The term “underground” connotes an image of a clandestine organization in which idealists struggle against injustice. In the USA, it was the “Underground Railroad” that helped slaves escape to freedom in the North. During and after World War II, it was the clandestine operations of the French Underground fighting the Nazi occupation that captured the imagination of millions of people around the world. It is my belief that the struggle to forge a movement linking UFOs to possible solutions for mankind’s problems is nothing less than revolutionary. I suspect that it might take the form of previous progressive struggles, such as ending slavery, winning the vote for women, and establishing trade unions to defend the rights of workers. There is an obvious difference between these social movements however and the ones that the Contact Underground has the potential to facilitate in the future. In my opinion the main difference is that full open contact with UAP intelligences can only be realized within the context of a spiritual transformation of human consciousness. This process must unfold in both individuals and in general society and will likely involve the recognition that mind, i.e., consciousness and not matter/energy is the wellspring of creation. Such a spiritual revolution will celebrate the guiding principle of oneness, brotherhood and sisterhood made large and the integral nature of “all that there is.”
“Flying Saucers Threaten All Terrestrial Elites, but not the Earth’s Peoples
In my judgement, the flying saucer phenomenon threatens all terrestrial power: military, economic, political, and religious. From an ideological point of view, as the result of their astounding physical and psychic capabilities, UFOs intelligences appear to violate the known laws of science. By doing so they undermine ideological underpinnings of institutional science known as “materialism or physicalism”. This philosophy asserts that matter/energy is primary, and that consciousness is merely an “emergent” property of neuronal activity.
Although flying saucers intelligences threaten the status quo, in my opinion, however, they are not a threat to the overwhelming majority of our planet’s people who deserve peace, prosperity, environmental and social justice, and more open and equal relations with UFO intelligences. Thus, what has been called the “UFO truth embargo” should be understood as the result of our planet’s elites trying to maintain their hegemony over the rest of society.
The Personal and Social Costs of Ridicule and Denial
Let’s face it, in many situations engaging the UFO topic is not safe. Let’s start first with the de facto government and corporate program of ridicule and denial that only started to decrease somewhat in 2017. As the result of this ongoing propaganda policy, countless experiencers have lost the respect of their families, friends, and communities because they have simply described what has happened to them. Commercial pilots who reported their sightings have faced discipline from their employers. Scientists in the past who expressed an interest in flying saucers have been shunned by their colleagues and ran the risk of being denied funds for their academic research. And then we have a mainstream media, that even today has systematically refused to honestly and comprehensively report the very important news that UFOs are real and are really important. UFOs are now official labelled by the US Government as “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. UAP are important, not only because millions of people are having sightings, but also because hundreds of thousands are reporting contact and communication with the intelligences responsible for in the past were labeled “flying saucers.”
To confront an incredibly sophisticated and disciplined opposition to broad societal conversations about UAP in their full complexity, UFO enthusiasts have created a sub-culture in which they can experience mutual support, thus allowing them to freely discuss this controversial subject. The Establishment’s current openness on this topic consists of mainly focusing on the sightings of military pilots while ignoring contact events occurring within the general population. Thus, there is practically no mention of the many contact experiencers who have numerous intense encounters with beings and intelligences associated with UAP. Furthermore, the limited intellectual resources of the UFO subculture have allowed it to become a mire of unsubstantiated conspiracy theories, hoaxes, and hucksters. Unfortunately, the carnival like atmosphere created by flying saucer fans servers to discourage socially responsible activists from getting involves in this important topic.
Activism Driven by High Ideals
Despite this challenging situation, pro-contact experiencers and their supporters have co-created with UFO intelligences loose networks of contact activists that are interacting with UAP intelligences by facilitating what I call “HICE”, Human Initiated Contact Events, aka CE-5s. In my judgment, these volunteer contact workers by their actions are proving that for the most part flying saucer intelligences are approachable and non-harmful. Activists are conducting this effort in a cooperative fashion with UAP intelligences by embracing the ideal of brotherhood and sisterhood made large. In the process, these advanced elements of the Contact Underground hope to facilitate a radical expansion of human consciousness. This transformation will involve the realization that to have sustainable relationships with UFO intelligences, an endurable world peace based on social and environmental justice will be required. A profound spiritual transformation of humanity’s mass consciousness is a prerequisite for ending war and creating a more just planetary culture. In my opinion, a preliminary step in this process will be for activists to acknowledge that Mind or Consciousness and not mass/energy is the wellspring of creation.
Mind Over Matter
The primacy of Consciousness in my opinion is currently being demonstrated by UAP intelligences’ astounding capabilities. These include:
1.manipulating spacetime
2. being able to access any targeted individual’s thoughts as readily as we can access light by turning on a wall switch at home.
3. creating altered states in contact experiencers that appear to be strong forms of “Virtual Reality”, this has been called a “Matrix” type of encounter,
4. manipulate human memory
5. carrying out astounding medical cures systems in selected experiencers, sometimes involving multiple organ systems.
The Imperative of Peace on Earth and in the Cosmos
Clearly it won’t be easy to link this controversial subject to possible solutions for the seemingly unsurmountable challenges facing humanity. It seems plausible that advanced non-human cultures manifesting as UFOs may have solved many of the problems facing humanity. It seems likely that only under conditions of lasting peace could non-humans avoid using their powerful technologies for warfare thereby avoiding self-destruction long before they could arrive here. This applies whether flying saucer associated non-humans come from other star systems or from what we imagine might be “other dimensions.” If contact and communication with them were expanded, then we might learn some important lessons that could help us survive. The powerful energy systems used to propel flying saucers, if used for war, might trigger any civilization’s self-destruction. This is a fate that humanity might face if the secrets of the saucers’ propulsion systems were discovered before an enduring terrestrial peace is established. Thus, more open forms of contact will require world peace.
The question arises, is the Contact Underground a social movement? I believe it is not at this time, but it has the potential of becoming part of one in the future. the way things stand now, it is little more than different networks of activists, not well organized by terrestrial standards, but who are linked via consciousness to what I imagine are the non-human groups associated with UAP. The word “community” is closer to what the “Underground” is right now, not as a place where people live together, but rather aa a network of activists across the globe working to proactively engage UAP intelligences. The links between these separate groups, (or cells) appear to be rather tenuous. Different networks like Rahma and the CE-5ers doing joint fieldwork on occasion is an example of this.
It seems possible, given the different types of beings and “craft” reported by witnesses, that multiple non-human groups are interacting with humanity. Learning to fully cooperate with them will only happen in my view once we end the national, racial, ethnic, and religious hatreds that have turned our jewel of a planet into a killing ground. The changes that I have briefly outlined will not happen quickly. I suggest that the time required for such a grand contact drama to unfold will not be decades, but more likely over centuries. I suspect, but certainly can’t prove, that UFO intelligences are following a long term “masterplan” in this regard.
Select Contact Teams are Operating More Clandestinely
It is not surprising that those who promote radical change can trigger a negative response from the Establishment. In addition to public groups like Rahma and the CE-5ers, I am aware of a few contact teams that operate on a more clandestine basis. Their leaders have reportedly been guided by “ETs” to avoid the well-established networks mentioned. I suspect this is being done for anticipated security problems in the future. There could come a time when increased contact might trigger repression directed against a social movement that threatens the interests of the ruling classes by promoting peace and solidarity with what appears to be “ET” or “interdimensional” civilizations.
In this context, the larger flying saucer subculture can be viewed as a training ground to bring volunteer contact workers into the “Underground.” Given the conflict-oriented mindset of the societal leaders, who have historically succeeded in keeping a lid on the flying saucer situation, it is understandable that both the flying saucer subculture and the Contact Underground will continue to be monitored by governmental counterintelligence agencies.
Thus, in a certain sense, the “Contact Underground” can be viewed not only as those activists who are currently going out into the field to interact with what are presumed to be “ETs”, but it can also be seen as a possible catalyst for a peaceful, spiritually based, revolutionary movement promoting cooperation and solidarity with what many call, “visitors from the stars.”

You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that Flying Saucer Intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately we cannot be controlled either.

Confirmation rather than the big “D” Disclosure is likely the next step in the authorities gradual acclimatization program. The possibilities of linking flying saucers to solutions for major terrestrial problems is discussed.
