Writing letters to government officials is a tool that has been used by countless reform efforts to pressure the authorities to adopt better policies or as in this case to simply address an important issue. Letter writing is most effective when it is combined with other activities. During the protest movements of the 1960s 70s and 80s there were demonstrations, acts of civil non-violent disobedience, “teach-ins ” at universities and public debates at “town hall” style meetings.
Letter writing can be one of the first steps to build a social movement to demand an end to government secrecy and lies about flying saucers. It is also a collective act when many activists and their supporters come together in a concerted campaign. One letter has little impact. Tens of thousands have more. It is estimated that for every person that makes the effort to write about an issue, perhaps one hundred more share those views but for a variety of reasons haven’t chosen to go on the public record.
I urge contact and disclosure activists to start writing letters to the US Government, both the Executive Branch and the US Congress. All participants in such an effort should feel free to copy letters of others and modify them as they see fit. There is no copyright on consciousness and our collective effort will be stronger when we help one another by using templates and then personally modifying them. For those that heed this plea, please consider posting your letters on FB and other social media pages to inspire others to act.
Dear President Biden,
I urge you to make a comprehensive statement concerning what are now being called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs). President Obama and his Central Intelligence Agency Director John Brennan have acknowledged that these phenomena are both real and unexplained. Last summer Congressional Intelligence Committees received classified briefings by the Pentagon on this subject and a highly redacted report was made public.
It is now nearly 75 years since the Roswell UFO event occurred. I urge you to move to end the US government’s de facto policy of ridicule and denial. Several members of the US Congress have called for more openness and transparency on the flying topic, and some have even mentioned the possibility of holding Congressional hearings. This issue is too important to buried by the Pentagon under the label of national security. I request that you empower your Science Advisor to initiate an investigation into this matter and make public the results of that investigation.
