I am urging contact/disclosure activists to think outside of the box. This is why I keep asking people to study the works of John Keel and Jacques Vallee. The flying saucer phenomenon is so complex, so Earth shaking in its implications, that only by evaluating it from multiple points of view can arrive at some true understanding of what is going on.
We are confronted with the paradigms (i.e. boxes) of both the larger society that is in denial about the importance of the phenomenon and those paradigms within the UFO subculture that have been created by our being swept away by the power of the UFO experience. In my judgment, powerful personal contact events have led many of us to abandon some of our critical faculties.
Reason and rigorous data collection as carried out by John Keel and Dr. Vallee led them to the unsettling conclusion that UFOs are in the business of creating belief. And they have likely been doing so across the centuries! Have no doubt I am writing about religion here!
On one hand, the so-called “wisdom traditions” have been the social glue that holds societies together. Religions have given us laws, the “commandments”, and thereby have a civilizing effect on humanity. At the same time, organized religion has been responsible for terrible conflicts. During the Middle Ages continuing into modern times, we see the conflict between Islam vs. Christianity and within the Muslim faith, Sunni versus the Shea.
On another FB page, a very emotional comment was made. The writer stated that he felt strongly that human DNA, carries memories of a connection to “our heavenly creators” and he was referring to the alleged “ETs.” This sounded to me like something out of a new age religion.
And what if it turns out to be true? Modern science knows so little about the origins of our DNA, if complex behaviors that allow birds to migrate thousands of miles using the pattern of the stars above to guide them, perhaps our “God reflex” to form religions might also be coded somewhere in the billions of pieces of information that is DNA. Perhaps a super intelligence that is responsible for UFOs is doing all this by its prodigious psi technology that allows it to hide behind a curtain of mystery. It is a mystery that we are now viewing through the prism of the ET hypothesis.
A New Age kind of spirituality is the path that UFO intelligence appears to guiding many of us to walk upon. I accept this as a condition of work for those contact activists that I call the “Contact Underground.” Nevertheless, we should never forget that this mechanism of creating belief must be critically examined, in others, and more importantly in ourselves. We should analyze our own thoughts and the powerful emotions that contact engenders as the result of interacting with an intelligence that is both very old and in my opinion is probably very wise as well.
I suggest that contact and disclosure activists step back and avoid the tendency to be swept away by the thrill of contact and examine how we are deliberately being transformed.
There are those who give up their power, the angry infantile “ET” haters. I refer to those who who like disturbed children blame their parents for all that is wrong in their lives, not wanting to move ahead and figure out what truly happened in the past so that they can, as adults, solve their problems in the present. I am referring to the followers of David Icke and the weird cult “Allies of Humanity.”
If the contact networks have the potential to create a new kind of social movement around UFOs to address the seemingly insurmountable problems that humanity faces, then contact activists have a responsibility to deal with these complex issues in a serious and disciplined manner. This will require much study, introspection in terms of critically examining our beliefs, and fair and friendly discussions in which high ideals rather than our egos guide us.
