This is the first of a series of 2021 interviews with James Iandoli’s on his YouTube channel “Engaging the Phenomena.” I cover how I was recruited in 1992 to do fieldwork staging Human Initiated Contact Events, aka “CE5s.” I describe the high-power contact team I coordinated in Southern California with no less than three practicing physicians, a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist, a United Airlines pilot, and the young author Preston Dennett who went on to publish over 20 books on UFOs and the paranormal. I now understand that our coming together was not a random series of events but was likely guided by the unseen hand of non-human intelligences who supported our contact activities.
We get into some of the more controversial aspects of the CSETI leader Steven Greer MD. We discuss his past successes in pioneering human-initiated contact and the Disclosure Project as well as the more problematic aspects of his persona and leadership style. These latter factors contributed to my resigning from CSETI in 1998 after five years of volunteer contact work.
Within an intelligence-counterintelligence paradigm, the CSETI Director can be viewed as a very unusual kind of “agent of influence.” In my view he is working for both UFO intelligences and the sections of the US security organizations supporting limited disclosure of the reality and importance of flying saucers. In our discussion, James and I rely heavily on the analysis of author/intelligence analyst Grant Cameron. His 2017 book “Managing Magic” documents how alongside the coverup, there has existed what he calls a “gradual acclimatization program carried out by the United States’ Executive Branch of government.
In my judgment, flying saucers threaten almost all terrestrial elites but not necessarily the Earth’s people. I believe that the masses of our beautiful planet deserve peace, security, prosperity, social/environmental justice, and open contact with the non-human intelligences associated with what are now called “UAP.”
Given this perspective, I view the gradual acclimatization program described by Grant Cameron as a response to the realization that the so-called “Others” and not Washington ultimately control the challenge of UFO contact. To prevent societal destabilization, during an acceleration of contact events, more openness on this topic has increasingly been the chosen policy option for political leaders.
This 2021 interview was the first of a series that was presented on Engaging the Phenomena. I am grateful that James Iandoli, who represents the next generation of contact activists, has given me opportunities to share my stories about the early days of the network of activists that I call the “Contact Underground.”
