Last year, former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Chris Mellon went after the Air Force’s clearly obstructionist approach to the limited disclosure efforts of the Navy. He appeared on “The Hill” in an 11-minute news segment.
Watching the reporters squirm and make jokes again reminded me of how far the media will need to go to take this subject seriously and deal with the profound implications of flying saucers for the future of our civilization.
Chris Mellon as usual stays on message in the way one would expect from a disciplined member of the intelligence community. the reporters become most uncomfortable as evidenced by their adolescent final comments. Nevertheless, the discussion mentioned that encounters over nuclear installations could be a message that these weapons of mass destruction are dangerous not only for the so-called aliens, but also for humanity.
When I published this link and brief commentary in 2022, a long-time contact activist responded by affirming his belief in the ET Hypothesis (ETH) as the explanation for flying saucers. We were both veterans of the CE-5 contact network going back 30 years. In 1995, I did a CSETI lecture at the Vancouver Planetarium. He made all the arrangements for that event plus an in-depth training session that followed. We had a falling out as the result of my publicly breaking with the controversial CSETI Director, but he did responds with a comment to the above blog. He wrote,
“. We need to stop calling these things UFOs and UAPs as were playing into hands of the NAVY and Pentagon’s deception of disinformation. They have been and have always been ETVs – Extraterrestrial Vehicles and the US Navy and other branches of the armed service have known about this before World War Two ended!! We all need to do our research more carefully and beware of deception from those who worked for intelligence at one time or other the other!”

Yours is a popular criticism of the terms that our rulers have imposed on the limited popular conversation that we are allowed to have on this subject. I once was a wholehearted believer in the ET hypothesis. This was true during the arduous early years of the CE5 project. When I ceased doing regular fieldwork, I read the works of John Keel and Dr. Vallee who seriously questioned the ETH. I found that the data set of encounters in their entirety was not a good match for so called ET “visitations.” Keel and Vallee have strongly suggested that flying saucers and the interactions with beings associated with them have been a constant in one form or another for tens of thousands of years. Furthermore, they behave not like visitors from other star systems, but instead as if they come from “other dimensions”. This is supported by the numerous cases that according to Dr. Vallee demonstrate their ability to manipulate spacetime.
The ET explanation is likely a reflection of our current stage of development with the beginning of space exploration. In past times, flying saucers where perceived as “airships” in the 1890s, dragons in ancient China and flying sailing ships before the age of human flight.
Whatever is their source of origin, these others that experiencers now call “ET”, are in my opinion, on a helping mission. Their presence, if our civilization will survive, must lead to an expansion of human consciousness, a fundamental spiritual transformation. The message of oneness, of a supreme love that frequently is described coming from the beings associated with flying saucers, will need to become the basis for planetary a unity based on environmental and social justice. After the planet is united peacefully, after we abolish war forever, end the oppression of women and eliminate the extreme disparities of wealth and power, only then will we be allowed to know who these representatives of a “higher intelligence agency” truly are.
