VICTOR MARCHETTI, (1929-2018) AUTHOR OF THE CIA AND THE CULT OF INTELLIGENCE
Ten years after Victor Marchetti resigned from CIA and five years after publishing a scathing critique of his former employer “The CIA and the Cult of Intelligence”, the once assistant to the Deputy Director of the CIA published his 1979 article,” How the CIA Views the UFO Phenomenon” in the Second Look Magazine. A portion is quoted below.
In my judgment, his analysis correctly identifies the main reasons for the eight-decade long UFO coverup. Marchetti explains that “the national oligarchical establishments” fear they might lose control of the Earth’s population if the following became generally known. That “beings with mentalities and technological capabilities obviously far superior to ours” are responsible for UFOs.
Victor Marchetti states,
“My theory is that we have, indeed, been contacted–perhaps even visited– by extraterrestrial beings, and that the U.S. Government, in collusion with other national powers of the Earth, is determined to keep this information from the general public. The purpose of the international conspiracy is to maintain a workable stability among the nations of the world and for them, in turn, to retain institutional control over their respective populations. Thus, for these governments to admit there are beings from outer space attempting to contact us, beings with mentalities and technological capabilities obviously far superior to ours, could, once fully perceived by the average person, erode the foundations of the Earth’s traditional power structure. Political and legal systems, religions, economic and social institutions could all soon become meaningless in the mind of the public. The national oligarchical establishments, even civilization as we know it, could collapse into anarchy.
Such extreme conclusions are not necessarily valid, but they probably accurately reflect the fears of the “ruling class” of the major nations, whose leaders (particularly those in the intelligence business) have always advocated excessive governmental secrecy as being necessary to preserve “national security.” The real reason for such secrecy is, of course, to keep the public uninformed, misinformed, and, therefore, malleable.”
For many years I have promoted the assessment that flying saucer intelligences threaten all terrestrial elites, but not necessarily the Earth’s people. In my opinion humanity deserves not only world peace, security, and environmental protection, but also open contact with the non-human intelligences associated with what are now called UAP.
Instead of putting the blame for the UFO coverup on a secret “Cabal” of evil people, I have put forward a power structure analysis which outlines why ruling elites, acting in their perceived self-interests, have conducted a de facto policy of ridicule and denial concerning flying saucers. This program has been carried out by the Executive Branch of the US Government, academia, and a compromised establishment mass media. Supporting the existence of this kind of massive coverup is the sworn testimony to the US Congress by former high ranking intelligence official David Grusch. He described the existence of a decades long psychological warfare program directed at the American people.
This power structure analysis that I have written about in numerous blogs on social media, in my judgment, is not a conspiracy theory. I believe that I have merely described how the richest and most powerful groups maintain effective control on this planet. It is gratifying for me to note that the very well-informed former CIA official, Victor Marchetti, came to a similar conclusion when he wrote,
“Thus, for these governments to admit there are beings from outer space attempting to contact us, beings with mentalities and technological capabilities obviously far superior to ours, could, once fully perceived by the average person, erode the foundations of the Earth’s traditional power structure.”
The entire article was posted on the social media platform Reddit seven years ago. It was reportedly copied from another internet web site that can no longer be accessed. Curiously, only a handful of comments were made to the posting at that time of its publication on Reddit and none since. I believe the views of Victor Marchetti merit a broad discussion of why the CIA and oligarchic forces feel threatened by UFOs.
Considering the increasing revelations about the US Executive Branch’s secret UFO programs, in my opinion having a firm understanding of the mechanisms of the coverup, will enlighten and energize contact/disclosure activists. I believe that it is important to explain the reasons why this secret has been kept for so long. The most crucial one is that this issue threatens all terrestrial elites but not the Earth’s people. It is my hope that an accurate analysis of the reasons for the UFO coverup will help the burgeoning social movement for full disclosure and the need to proactively engage the non-human intelligences responsible for them.

You can’t control a person who wants “no thing.” I suspect that flying saucer intelligences are feared by our planet’s elites because they can’t be controlled by the usual methods applied to the general population. If we start to identify, not with things and thought forms, but rather with universal consciousness, then ultimately, we cannot be controlled either.
