Bizarre Noiseless White Helicopter Over US 101 in Northern California.

Joseph Burkes MD 2025

Yesterday (December 5th 2025) I saw a bizarre “helicopter” flying over US 101 in Northern California. It happened at about 1:30 in the afternoon. The craft was unlike any conventional craft that I have ever seen. First of all, it was painted white and was enormous, at least twice the size of a typical Bell UH (Huey) type which it somewhat resembled by having only one main rotor. My wife and I were driving north. We had just had lunch in Willits and were travelling through the heavily forested coastal range. As we climbed the crest of a hill, I noted safety cones and workman wearing helmets and vests on the right side of the highway. Immediately the backside of the chopper came into view. It was about 400 feet up, just in front our of vehicle and was headed in the same direction that we were going.
I recall there were two wheels at the back of the helicopter but I don’t remember seeing a rear rotor.  The craft then turned right and I got a good view of the entire structure of the helicopter as flew over a clearing in the forest adjacent to the highway. My wife was sleeping in the passenger seat. I shook her and shouted at her to look at what I was seeing. I asked her if she could see the chopper and I think she mumbled that she could. Following this brief interaction she quickly slipped back into sleep.

The presence of the workers and the clearing initially made me think that it was part of some kind of logging operation. A strange feature was the side door appeared so large that it looked like a garage door. I estimated it to be at least ten feet high. The strangest feature of all was that it was totally silent. I rolled the window partially down to confirm this. A helicopter of that size, less than a thousand feet away should have produced a deafening roar and low frequency vibrations that would normally shake a car and its passengers. All I heard was the sound of my car engine and other nearby vehicles. The entire sighting lasted less than one minute.
Today I used Google to check if anyone had reported seeing a large helicopter along highway 101. I found no confirmatory report. I looked up large single rotor helicopters and the only one that somewhat resembled what I observed was the Navy Sea King, although what I saw yesterday seemed considerably larger. I asked my wife if she recalled my waking her up to see the helicopter. She did not.

This sighting was not the first time I observed a bizarre helicopters. In 1994 I was a contact team leader for the CE-5 Initiative in Los Angeles. One afternoon while driving through the Sepulveda Pass on the 405 Freeway I witnessed not one, but two antique military helicopters with weird paint jobs. There appeared to be an interactive component to the encounter in that when I suspected the craft might be UFOs and sent a message of welcome to them, one “helicopter” flew directly over my vehicle and accompanied me for about a mile as I headed into the San Fernando Valley to attend a doctors’ conference. The distance from me to the helicopter was less than 300 feet and the sound of the chopper was strangely muffled. For a full report on this High Strangeness event the following link is provided to a posting titled “Two Weird Helicopters in the Sepulveda Pass: Was a Consciousness Connection Evident?”https://contactunderground.org/2022/10/13/two-weird-helicopters-in-the-sepulveda-pass-was-a-consciousness-connection-evident/

  1. It might have been a Kamov helicopter- they are used for logging a lot. They do not have a tail rotor at all but two main rotors-either in ko-axial configuration or interleaved. The principle was first used by German pioneer Anton FLETTNER .

From far away it could look like just one rotor.
